Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. Name, email address and profile photo when you sign up with email and password, Google or Apple sign in.
• Profile and health-adjacent information you provide. Age, weight, height, gender, activity level and wake or sleep times, used only to calculate a personalized daily hydration goal.
• Hydration data. The drinks you log, timestamps, daily totals, streaks and achievement progress.
• Device and usage data. App version, general device type and notification tokens, used to deliver reminders and keep the App working correctly.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Calculate your personalized daily hydration goal.
• Sync your logs, streaks and achievements across devices.
• Send hydration reminders you have enabled.
• Provide rule-based or, for premium members, AI-powered hydration tips.
• Maintain, secure and improve the App.

AI-powered hydration tips (premium)

Premium members can receive personalized hydration tips generated using Anthropic's Claude API. To generate a tip, we send a summary of your recent hydration activity (such as your intake totals and goal progress), not your name, email or account credentials. Responses are cached locally for around 30 minutes before a new tip is requested.

How we store and protect data

Your data is stored using Firebase Authentication and Firestore, encrypted in transit, with logs also cached locally on your device so the App keeps working offline. Access to production data is restricted to what is required to operate the service.

How we share data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the App work, currently Google Firebase for authentication and storage, and Anthropic for premium AI tips, each bound by their own data protection terms. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Access or export your hydration data from within the App.
• Correct your profile information in Settings.
• Delete your account and associated data from Settings, or by contacting us.
• Disable notifications or AI suggestions at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and hydration history are removed from our systems, other than what we are required to keep for legal or accounting purposes.

Children's privacy

AquaFlow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
